Cloak 0.1.14 / September 4, 2026

Current verified build

Check the offer.
Keep the proof local.

The current build brings Cloak Check, private price timelines, careful consent assistance, optional merchant-specific checkout sub-addressing, stronger browser-recognition defenses, and clearer trial-to-paid access into one local shopping-defense system.

01 / CLOAK CHECK

Save a clean local price check.

Capture a supported product's clean URL, visible title, price, and time. Recheck it later to build a private price timeline inside this browser.

02 / CONSENT

Prefer clear optional-cookie rejection.

When enabled, Ray selects recognizable reject-optional or necessary-only choices and avoids ambiguous or accept-all controls.

03 / RECOGNITION

Reduce more browser clues.

Selected graphics, audio, font, media-device, hardware, language, battery, and browser-hint signals receive stable, compatibility-aware normalization.

04 / ACCESS

Try it, then activate deliberately.

The seven-day trial uses limited, persistent reminders and local protection totals. Paid access is verified with an opaque entitlement token after checkout.

Cloak Check and protection receipts stay in extension storage unless you choose to copy them. Price comparisons do not prove personalization or guarantee savings, and consent assistance cannot interpret every banner.

Five months.
One visible ledger.

Customer-visible milestones, one row at a time. Routine maintenance stays folded into the protection it improved.

0.1.14

Cloak Check became one private timeline.

Product capture, clean URLs, local price history, search, sorting, and visible variance now live together without turning Cloak into a cloud price-tracking service.

0.1.14

Consent choices became actionable.

Optional assistance can select clear reject-optional, necessary-only, or opt-out choices while avoiding ambiguous controls and accept-all buttons.

0.1.14

Trial prompts learned restraint.

A rate-limited check-in, ending reminder, and final-day local protection summary now guide trial customers without continuing after paid activation.

0.1.14

Checkout email sub-addressing stayed optional.

Customers can enable a deterministic merchant-specific Gmail plus address for empty checkout fields. It is off by default and is not an external forwarding service.

0.1.14

Forget this store now.

A prominent confirmed control clears covered browser-stored state for the selected store, with an honest warning that the action signs users out and may empty carts.

0.1.14

Optional startup forgetting.

Per-store automatic forgetting arrived off by default. It waits for Chrome's next start after a full exit instead of disrupting an active shopping session.

0.1.14

Broader browser-state reset.

The explicit reset now covers cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, Cache Storage, service workers, site file-system storage, and WebSQL through Chrome's origin-scoped browsing-data API.

0.1.14

More named tracking state.

Selective cleanup expanded across documented Shopify, TikTok, Klaviyo, Adobe, Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, and common recently-viewed identifiers.

0.1.14

Permission scope tightened.

Required host access narrowed to Cloak's own site. General HTTPS shopping-site access remains optional and user-granted.

0.1.14

A harder browser to recognize.

Fingerprint protection moved earlier and expanded across selected graphics, audio, fonts, device details, browser hints, and explicit recognition IDs, with fresh per-document protection.

Safari

Safari interest opened.

A dedicated waitlist began measuring real demand for Cloak beyond Chrome without pretending a Safari release was already public.

0.1.14

Trial and local protection matured.

Cloak added a seven-day, no-card trial, clearer local receipts, stronger shopping-session protections, and a packaging gate for the release customers actually install.

Evidence

Proof moved to the front.

The public evidence center, reproducible shopping benchmark, reports hub, and searchable glossary made Cloak's coverage and limits inspectable before purchase.

0.1.13

Privacy controls became easier to trust.

The extension clarified permissions, trial state, and protection language while keeping activation and ordinary browser state deliberately scoped.

0.1.12

Retailer-aware cleanup expanded.

More shopping and commerce routes learned to lose campaign baggage while preserving search, filters, products, sellers, variants, carts, currency, and checkout choices.

0.1.11

The extension found its visual identity.

Cloak's popup was rebuilt in the monochrome Y3K system with clearer type, accessible themes, calmer evidence, and a more recognizable Ray.

Activation

Checkout connected directly to access.

Verified purchase handoff, activation guidance, and private support made the path from payment to working protection shorter and safer.

Runtime

Earlier popup and interstitial defense.

The page-level guard moved into the main execution world so covered popup and interstitial behavior could be addressed closer to where pages create it.

0.1.7

Ads and trackers stopped sharing a number.

Visible ad creatives, tracker pixels, and blocked requests received clearer classifications and separate counters instead of one inflated total.

Ray

Optional-cookie choices got help.

Ray learned to prefer recognizable reject and opt-out choices on likely consent surfaces while avoiding ambiguous controls.

Activation

Paid access became verifiable.

Activation moved from a cosmetic gate to backend verification, with Web Store packaging corrected to avoid remotely hosted extension code.

Shopping

Cleaner retailer destinations.

Amazon, Walmart, eBay, TikTok Shop, marketplaces, and general commerce links gained stricter tracking cleanup with compatibility checks for the destination state shoppers need.

Signals

Battery normalization stabilized.

The shopping-site battery proxy was corrected so the covered normalized value behaved consistently instead of breaking the page call path.
